Major structuring projects 2025

RiSBOd is launching a call for projects to support major structuring initiatives. These projects must encourage intersectoral collaboration, integrate Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)principles, and include external partners to maximize their scientific, community, and societal impact.

Project Requirements

1. Integration into the RiSBOd Network
   • The project must align with RiSBOd’s mission.
2. Intersectoral and Inter-network Collaboration
   • Intersectorality, as defined by the FRQ, is a collaborative approach where actors, expertise, and perspectives come from multiple sectors, such as natural sciences and engineering, social sciences and humanities, arts and literature, and health.
   • Encouraging synergy among researchers from different sectors or networks.
   • Facilitating the connection of teams with complementary expertise.
3. External Partnerships
   • Involvement of industrial, social, community, or other partners. A letter of support from the partner is required.
4. EDI Principles
   • Emphasizing concrete actions to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion.
5. Leverage Effect
   • Demonstrating how the project can generate leverage to secure additional funding or enhance the scientific impact of other initiatives.
6. Knowledge Mobilization and Sustainable Health
   • Knowledge mobilization activities:
     Selected teams will be responsible for planning and implementing activities to share, transfer, and apply knowledge derived from their work. These activities may include workshops, conferences, accessible publications, or partnerships with stakeholders.
   • Integration of sustainable health into project activities:
     Each team must explain and demonstrate how they will incorporate sustainable health principles into their initiatives.

Funding Conditions and Recipient Commitments

1. Researchers funded under this program, and all project participants, must comply with the guidelines set forth by the Fonds de recherche du Québec in the General Common Rules, which govern, among other things, eligible expenses.
2. RiSBOd expects recipients to acknowledge its support in all communications and publications resulting from the funded project.
3. Recipients must submit a final report summarizing research progress, published articles, and a summary of scientific presentations.
4. Recipients must organize and participate in knowledge mobilization activities.
5. RiSBOd reserves the right to contact recipients to produce a short (2-3 minutes) video presenting the funded research project.
6. RiSBOd reserves the right to request researchers to give an oral presentation at the network’s scientific events to share results from the funded research project.

Program Objectives

a) Enable researchers from different sites,fields, or sectors to develop collaborations and combine their expertise aroundvarious research themes.
b) Support innovative approaches that may lead to securing grants from majorhealth research funding agencies.
c) Generate and mobilize knowledge that could ultimately have significantclinical, applied, or public health impacts.

Eligibility Criteria

• The designated principal investigator must be a regular member of RiSBOd.
• Research teams must include at least three RiSBOd members from at least two faculties, research centers, or universities. Teams must describe how intersectorality is integrated into their project.
• A member may submit only one application as a principal investigator for this competition.
• A researcher who received a grant as a principal investigator in the 2023-2024 competition cannot apply as a principal investigator for this competition.
