RiSBOd Research Clusters
RiSBOd is committed to transforming oral and musculoskeletal health care and research through equity, sustainability and innovation. Its partnerships with government, professionals and citizens are essential to meeting these societal and environmental challenges.
Cluster 1
Understanding and acting on the determinants of sustainable health
Quebec faces a significant burden of oral (cavities, periodontal disease) and musculoskeletal (osteoporosis, osteoarthritis) diseases, as well as head and neck cancers. These diseases exacerbate social inequalities, affect quality of life and entail high costs.
Persons in charge
Noémi Dahan-Oliel
Cluster Director
Objectives
1. Develop a health monitoring system that integrates the needs of the population.
2. Study the biological, social and commercial determinants of disease to understand inequalities.
3. Promote innovative policies and interventions to prevent and treat disease.
